Drive a clean front stage with 2 channel car amplifiers that send true stereo power to a pair of components, coaxials or a small subwoofer when bridged. Each chassis ships with adjustable high-pass, low-pass and bass-boost crossovers, plus low-noise inputs that accept RCA or speaker-level signal from any factory head unit. Choose from 80W to over 600W RMS per channel by Vibe, JL Audio, Pioneer, Phoenix Gold, Kenwood and Hertz. Bass Junkies dispatches every 2 channel amp quickly with warranty.

Why a two channel car amplifier in 2026
A two channel car amplifier is the most flexible single box in a fitted system. Use it in stereo to drive the front component or coaxial speakers, use it bridged to drive a single subwoofer, or use it as a dedicated channel of clean power for the rear fill. Modern Class-D and Class-AB designs from Pioneer, JL Audio, Match, Helix, Audison, Hertz, Phoenix Gold and Vibe deliver real world watts with thermal headroom and tidy footprints that hide under a seat or sit on a boot floor.
Class D, AB and full range D explained
Class-D amps are the most efficient. A modern full range Class-D unit such as the Match PP series sounds excellent on front stage duty and runs cool even on a long motorway journey. Class-AB designs from JL Audio, Audison and Phoenix Gold deliver the warmest analogue sound with a touch more weight on vocals. Choose Class-D if space and current draw matter, Class-AB if outright fidelity is the priority.
Power matching the speakers
Pick a two channel amp that delivers between sixty and one hundred and twenty percent of the speaker continuous power rating. A typical aftermarket 6.5 inch component set rated at 100 watts RMS likes 100 to 120 watts per channel. A coaxial set rated at 50 watts RMS likes 50 to 80 watts per channel. Bridged for a sub, look for 200 watts to 500 watts at four ohms depending on the woofer.
Brand quality at a glance
- JL Audio. The XD and HD two channel amplifiers set the reference standard for clean front stage power.
- Match. Plug and play replacement amps and full range Class-D models with optional DSP, ideal for OEM upgrade installs.
- Audison. Italian engineered Class-AB and Class-D designs with refined musicality.
- Helix. German precision two channel amplifiers, often used in competition builds.
- Pioneer. Reliable entry to mid level GM and PRS series that drive most aftermarket fronts cleanly.
- Phoenix Gold. Strong value Class-AB and Class-D models for both front stage and bridged sub duty.
Tuning the gain and crossover
Set the head unit volume at three quarters before touching the amp gain. Bring the amp gain up until the system is clean and loud, then back off by two notches to leave headroom on dynamic peaks. On the front stage, run a high pass at 80 hertz to protect the mid bass cone. Bridged on a sub, run a low pass at 80 hertz with the subsonic filter set to 30 hertz on a sealed box.
Wiring kit and power upgrades
A two channel amp drawing 30 amps to 60 amps wants a four gauge or eight gauge wiring kit, depending on size. Use a top quality oxygen free copper power cable from the battery to the boot, with an inline fuse within thirty centimetres of the positive battery terminal. Ground the amp to a paint stripped chassis bolt within forty centimetres of the unit for a clean signal.
Compatibility and fitting
- Fascia adapter. Needed when the head unit is being upgraded alongside the amplifier.
- ISO harness. Clean factory loom connection on the new head unit, no splicing required.
- Steering wheel control adapter. Retains stalk and steering wheel buttons after the head unit swap.
- Aerial adapter. Standard DIN conversion of the OEM antenna plug.
- Active system adapter. Required when a factory amplifier already drives the standard speakers so the new amp sees a clean, flat line level input.
Tuning tips for a daily SQ build
Set the subsonic filter on the sub channel to 30 hertz with a sealed box, or to the tuning frequency plus 5 hertz on a ported box. Use the bass boost very lightly, no more than 3 decibels, to keep the amplifier cool on long journeys. If the front stage sounds glassy, lift the head unit fader fully forward and add a 60 hertz to 80 hertz bump on the equaliser for natural warmth.
