At just 130mm high, its slim design offers greater installation flexibility than a conventional bulky subwoofer box. The down-firing layout directs the bass towards the mounting surface, taking advantage of nearby boundaries to reinforce output.
Unlike a twin-powered-subwoofer system, the ZX28PBS uses one driven subwoofer and one unpowered passive radiator. The radiator responds to pressure inside the enclosure, helping extend low-frequency performance without requiring a second electrically driven speaker.
Rated at 150W RMS and 250W maximum power handling, the subwoofer features dual 2-ohm voice coils. These provide wiring options to suit a compatible external amplifier, with the Phoenix Gold ZXM500.1 suggested as a suitable pairing.

The ZXM500.1i is an impressive Class-D Mono Mini Amplifier. The ZXM amplifiers are made to be as small as possible without compromising sound quality, power and functions. The ZXM500.1i is a 1 channel amplifier with 500W RMS into 1 Ohm. The power output in 2 Ohm is 360W RMS and in 4 Ohm is 230W RMS. This means it can be loaded between 4 1 Ohm with lots of power.
The ZXM500.1i has 24dB Low pass filter and also an adjustable Subsonic filter.
