Buying a ready made empty enclosure saves a weekend of woodwork and guarantees a properly braced, airtight cabinet with the right internal volume. Sealed or slot ported

• Sealed enclosure. Smaller, tighter and more forgiving. Delivers accurate bass with a gentle roll off, ideal for rock, indie and anything where speed matters. Needs more amplifier power for the same loudness.
• Slot ported enclosure. Larger with a tuned port that boosts output around 35 to 40 Hz. Louder for the same power and the choice for bass heavy music, dubstep, hip hop and SPL demos.
• Which to pick. Sealed if boot space is limited or you value accuracy. Ported if you want maximum output and can spare the room.

Checking your subwoofer will fit
