Most Kicker buyer mistakes come from undersizing the amplifier rather than the sub. A CompR 12 inch dual 2 ohm sub wired to a single 1 ohm load needs a clean 500W RMS amplifier to wake up. Run it at 250W and it will sound flat. Run it on a mismatched cheap amp pushed beyond its rating and you will burn the voice coil.
